Two of the waterfront’s most significant heritage buildings reside within Kumutoto – Sheds 11 and 13.

Completed in 1905, Shed 11 was originally a storage shed for Wellington’s busy port and it played an important role in Wellington’s commercial life. But Shed 11 became redundant with the advent of container shipping and in 1985 was converted into gallery space.
Today it’s home to the NZ Portrait Gallery.

Shed 13 is identical to Shed 11 in appearance. It has undergone earthquake strengthening and an external refurbishment and is now the new head office of Mojo Coffee Holdings. Please click to view internal images of Shed 13: www.trendsideas.com/ViewArticle.aspx?article=13354®ion=1&topic=21 |
