Chaffers Dock (Herd Street Post Office building)

The transformation from the old Herd Street Post and Telegraph building into the smart and vibrant Chaffers Dock is complete.  It houses 64 apartments on the upper five levels and a mix of retail, restaurants and cafes at ground level.

People can move from Waitangi Park to the waterfront via a glass ceiling atrium. The atrium also provides shade and shelter for park visitors.

This was a Mahoney Corporation development.

Chaffers Dock’s ground floor piazza features a range of goods and services to tempt park goers, apartment dwellers and passers by:

Herd Street Brasserie
Wellington's newest waterfront restaurant is now up and running.

Movenpick
Indulge yourself from the vast array of delectable ice creams and desserts from this world famous Swiss ice cream company.

Subway
You can’t get fresher than a Subway sub (filled roll).  Healthy and affordable takeaway food, perfect for a picnic in the park.

Empire Skate Shop
Stockists of skate gear from boards to clothing, protective apparel and other gnarly stuff.

The Port Café
The place to buy wet fish, or to dine on seafood to your heat's content.

Zarbo
For the best of delicatessen foods.
