Chaffers Dock (Herd Street Post Office building)

The Herd Street Post & Telegraph building has been transformed into the smart and vibrant Chaffers Dock.  It houses 64 apartments on the upper five levels and a mix of retail, restaurants and cafes at ground level.

People can move from Waitangi Park to the waterfront via a glass ceiling atrium. The atrium also provides shade and shelter for park visitors.

This was a Mahoney Corporation development.

Chaffers Dock’s ground floor piazza features a range of goods and services to tempt park goers, apartment dwellers and passers by:

Movenpick
Indulge yourself from the vast array of delectable ice creams and desserts from this world famous Swiss ice cream company.

Empire Skate Shop
Stockists of skate gear from boards to clothing, protective apparel and other gnarly stuff.

The Port Café
The place to dine on seafood to your heart's content.
