In the centre of the park is The Field, used for anything from dozing in the sun or throwing a Frisbee at family picnics, to hosting public events, large and small.

The field measures 6,150 square metres (larger than the playing field at Wellington’s Westpac Stadium!), comfortably able to accommodate crowds of up to 12,000 people at any one time.

The Field has been future-proofed for the 21st century.  It is fully powered and wired meaning events can operate state of the art equipment safely and with ease.
