One of the most exciting attractions at Waitangi Park is the wonderful Children’s Play Garden.

Not only featuring specially-selected play equipment, the Play Garden also has a landscaped setting designed to encourage creative, imaginative and active play.

Designed to form a ‘nest’ where the smallest children can play safely in the middle, while older kids play in areas graduating out from the centre.

Kids of all ages can choose from bendy poles, a painting wall, a climbing structure, a water play area, whizzing down a flying fox, using the climbing apparatus or playing on the slide, in a sunken play area, on ride-on toys or dancing through the stepping stone garden.

In between the activities are the garden areas that provide a sheltered, safe play environment to encourage exploration, fantasy and imaginative play. The space is fenced to ensure safety at all times.

Parents and grandparents can sit and watch the kids play while enjoying an ice cream or coffee from the neighbouring kiosk. Toilets are provided within the kiosk building.
