Chaffers Marina

Looking for somewhere to tie up your boat when you visit Wellington?

Chaffers Marina is Wellington's inner city floating marina, with a prime location next to Te Papa, the National Museum, situated in the inner harbour.  The Marina is licensed to private shareholders through Chaffers Marina Holdings Holdings Limited and managed by Chaffers Marina Limited.

Berth sizes currently range from 10 metres to 20 metres.  Located in 10-11m of water, the marina is protected by a floating breakwater and is attached to the Clyde Quay Wharf.  There is a waiting list for leasing of all berth sizes, but there are berth licences available for purchase if you are after security of tenure and wish to consider pruchasing a berth licence and becoming a shareholder.  Click here for more info.

There are generally always a few casual berths available for short term visiting vessels.  Call before arriving to book a space.

The marina offers facilities and services for both visiting vessels and private boat owners.

Facilities include:

  • Power and water on each pier
  • Diesel fuelling facility
  • 40 tonne boatlift facility
  • Car parking
  • Bathrooms/changing rooms/shower and laundry
  • Security patrols
  • Marina office and onsite manager
