Te Papa Cafe offers a great food and drink experience in a welcoming, vibrant, and family-friendly environment.
 
Te Papa Cafe delivers the very best of what makes up New Zealand’s engaging cafe culture: fresh ingredients and wonderful preparation, along with barista coffee and a selection of teas and other beverages, including wines and beers, available by the glass and bottle.

Another expression of Te Papa’s unique identity, the cafe is themed as a celebration of the story of New Zealand food and how New Zealanders enjoy it. It features eye-catching wall decor inspired by tukutuku (woven panel) design as well as historical, nostalgic and contemporary images from the Te Papa collections. All this in a spacious and relaxing location on Wellington’s waterfront.

Espresso

Espresso is located on Level 4 in the heart of the Museum with comfortable seating and serving great coffee, cakes, pastries, and light refreshments – making it a favourite place to relax.
 
Espresso is open museum hours and closes at 8.30pm on Thursday nights. Why not combine a visit to the Museum with coffee and cake or a glass of wine in the stunning surrounds of our national treasures?
