With spectacular, intimate views of the inner harbour on one side and a panorama of the city on the other, The Boatshed is one of Wellington's premier function venues.

Steeped in history, it offers the elegance and charm of yesteryear in a convenient inner-city waterfront location and is particularly popular for weddings, balls, corporate functions and Christmas parties.

The venue has a legal capacity of 300 and has a main room with a wooden floor which can cater for up to a maximum of 200 at a seated meal, as well as an adjacent carpeted bar area for pre-dinner refreshments.

The Boatshed has balconies to the north and south and is adjacent to the Wellington Rowing Club’s function centre with a shared deck space between the two venues.

As the Boatshed isn’t aligned with any specific caterer or alcohol supplier, you are free to make whatever food and drink arrangements you choose.

A digital Jukebox, round tables, trestles and chairs are available for hire from The Boatshed, and the Wellington Combined Taxi company provides a direct free phone line at the venue.

The Boatshed is on the first floor of a heritage building and does not, at this stage, have disability access.
